I hate the cliche "a picture's worth a thousand words," but the unfortunate truth of the matter is that sometimes it really is. This one is a perfect example, because it represents the fact that I was fortunate enough to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
(It also represents the best and worst customer service experiences of my life [for example, while the manager at our hotel bent over backwards to accommodate and take interest in us, the taxi driver took advantage of us and was possibly one of the most rude human beings I've ever met]).
While the weekend didn't go exactly as planned, it was an excellent opportunity to reevaluate which direction to take myself as a friend, as an author, as a brand, and as an individual while also listening to some kick-ass accordion music, giving and getting excellent hugs, and embracing my complete geekdom at a conference based around a video game inspired web series.
Here's to rockstars who teach their kids kindness, and hot Canadian girls who kick ass at origami.
